Local Missions

What is the importance of performing service within the community?

Everyone has been blessed with talents, abilities, passions, and experiences. These gifts have been given for one purpose… to serve God by serving others. Coastal offers many opportunities for you to serve. If you are interested in serving, we encourage you to read about the different service projects we have, and to get in contact with the service leader for the specific one you’re interested in.

As a church, we desire to show the love of Christ to Brevard County, and its surrounding areas, by serving the various needs of our community. The good thing about service is that there are many areas of opportunity for you to be involved in a ministry that reflects your specific God- given talents and desires of your heart to live a life of purpose. It also allows you to not only serve, but also to get to know and fellowship, both the people you are serving, and the people with whom you are serving.

It is through that service and fellowship hopefully you will begin to understand the mission you’re doing and the motivations behind those ministries. We are always searching and praying for new opportunities to serve and care for our local community.

Contact Pastor Tracy Claytor for service opportunities.

Food Pantry

We work to keep our food pantry stocked so that non perishable items can be provided to those in need. To be a part of this ministry, all you have to do is bring food items to our “Food Pantry” storage cabinets in the main lobby. Any food items brought to the church are distributed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Contact Robbie Duncan at robbie@coastalcommunity.net if you would like to volunteer or would like more information.

Canaveral Port Ministry “Seafarer’s Ministry”

CPM has several chaplains who visit regularly on some of the cruise ships that come to Port Canaveral. We work hand-in-hand with Seafarers to help spread the word of God. Some of the services that we help with are transportation to and from places, hot meals, and talking to seafarers about Christ. At this time Coastal is committed to providing one hot meal a month. If you are interested in serving or have questions you can email Ray Kerkstra at kerkstra@gmail.com or Alison Kerkstra at aliren73@bellsouth.net .
