Pastoral Update

The following announcement was read by Base Coach Kenny Broadbent at the conclusion of each service on Saturday and Sunday, August 6 and August 7, 2011.
Announcement Concerning the Pastor:
If you would please give me a few more minutes of your time, we have an announcement.
First, I would like to apologize to you all for the lack of or even any mis-communication that we, the Leadership, have given.  Part of the reason for the lack of information was that, as we began to investigate the accusations and concerns about the issues, we were not sure exactly what would be appropriate to share.
The Leadership of Coastal understands all of the emotions that all of you are feeling, as we have the same emotions.  Much prayer and seeking of God’s word has transpired through this whole process.  The Leaders have brought in much counsel of many seasoned Pastors to be part of the process.  All of these men were recommended by Pastor Erick himself.  Each of our Elders and staff members have a deep love for Pastor Erick and have been striving to bring healing to many areas.  There has been an abundance of Godly advice, and through everything there has been unity.
We know that our members desire to have a say in things, but that would not be possible, for in order to make an informed decision, not one based on emotion, they would need to know all of the facts.  There is no way that letting all of the information out to the public would be a good thing or a God thing.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce Erick’s decision not to return to Coastal.
I would like to read this letter from Pastor Erick:
Coaches and Staff,
I see no way I can return to Coastal with all that has transpired the last few months.  I don’t see a healthy outcome for the Coastal family or myself through my current return.  I wish you well and pray that God will reward you for all your years of faithful service.  I also appreciate your generosity to my family financially.  I hope you will know I love each of you and will continue to pray for God’s best for you and the Coastal family.
Our love, hope and prayers go with our beloved Pastor.
May God’s peace that surpasses all understanding fall on you, bless you, and keep you this day and always.
